India BIS Certification Mandatory for Aluminium & Alloy Products Imported into India

The Order, effective from 4 May 2025, requires that certain aluminium and aluminium-alloy products conform to Indian Standards (IS) and bear the BIS Standard Mark before they can be manufactured, imported, or sold in India.

• Products covered: 17 categories including rods, sheets, tubes, and composite panels.
• Requirements: All products must be produced or imported under a BIS Scheme I licence, meet the relevant IS, and carry the BIS Standard Mark.
